A Tomoe crest tsuba sets the tone on this compact tanto, framed by a black piano-lacquered saya and a black cotton ito wrap. The 12.5\" blade is hand-forged 1080 high carbon steel, oil quench hardened and hand sharpened. It arrives sharp, comes fully apart for care, and includes a certificate of authenticity — a short blade made to be handled, not only displayed.

  Suited to light cutting practice such as rolled tatami omote, soft mats and water-filled bottles, where permitted by local law. Not intended for hard targets such as metal, stone or seasoned hardwood. The blade can rust if left wet: wipe it dry after handling and apply a light coat of sword oil before storing.
