Vintage pre-owned condition with age-related wear consistent with an older glass ornament. There is visible wear and loss to the silvering and painted decoration, along with spotting, discoloration and surface wear. No major chips or breaks observed. Please review all photos closely for condition.
DESCRIPTION
Beautiful vintage West German blown glass Christmas ornament measuring approximately 4 inches long.
This unusual ornament features a large silvered globe accented by a wide metallic gold center band with white hand-painted looping and scroll decoration. An elongated ribbed silver drop extends from the bottom, creating a distinctive finial-style silhouette.
The metal cap is clearly stamped WEST GERMANY.
The combination of the reflective silver finish, bright gold band, hand-painted white decoration and sculptural ribbed drop gives this ornament a wonderful Mid-Century Christmas look. It is an especially distinctive example compared with more traditional round West German ornaments.
