This is a very unusual Victorian bubble glass hanging framed plaque that was given to a girl for her first communion. It has a nice convex glass front encased in a brass frame with a tin back. Inside, there is a pressed paper image of a girl on her first communion, surrounded by a hand-sewn wreath design made with iridescent metallic thread. This piece likely dates back to the early 1800s, probably no later than the 1820s. It measures 2-5/8\" tall x 2\" wide x 0.5\" thick. It is in excellent condition and still has the original red silk ribbon.* * * * * * * * *
