Antique Seti I Egyptian Royal Mummy Photographs – Matching Set of 2
Wonderful pair of antique photographs depicting the mummy of Pharaoh Seti I, father of Ramesses II and one of the major pharaohs of Egypt’s 19th Dynasty.
This matching pair includes:
* Detailed portrait view of the mummy’s head
* Full-length view of the mummy
The photographs are associated with the late-19th-century photographic documentation of Egypt’s royal mummies. Based on the subject matter and known period examples, these appear consistent with photographs produced during the late 1880s–1890s era.
The exact printing date and photographic process have not been independently authenticated, so please review the detailed photographs and make your own determination.
Both photographs are antique prints from an old Egyptology photographic collection. They are not newly produced reproductions. The matching black frames are modern and were added for display.
Both show attractive period sepia coloration along with expected age-related toning and minor wear. Please examine all photographs closely for condition.
An especially striking pair for collectors of Ancient Egypt, Egyptology, archaeology, early photography, royal mummies and Victorian-era historical material.
Sold together as a two-piece framed set.
