Antique c1886-1890s Ramses III Mummy Photos Set of 2 Egypt Pharaoh Framed
Description
Antique Ramesses III Egyptian Royal Mummy Photographs – Set of 2
Striking pair of antique photographs depicting the mummy of Pharaoh Ramesses III (Ramses III), one of the most important rulers of Egypt’s 20th Dynasty.
This matching pair includes:
* Full-length view of the mummy of Ramesses III
* Detailed profile portrait of the mummy
These photographs are associated with the historic late-19th-century documentation of Egypt’s royal mummies following the discovery of the Deir el-Bahari Royal Cache in 1881.
The photographs appear consistent with late-19th-century Egyptian mummy photography, approximately 1880s–1890s. The exact printing date and photographic process have not been independently authenticated, so please review all photographs carefully and make your own determination.
These are antique photographic prints from an old Egyptology photograph collection, not newly produced prints. The black frames are modern and were added for display.
Both photographs exhibit attractive period sepia toning along with expected age-related fading, toning and minor wear. The profile photograph has some visible edge wear/damage, as shown in the photographs.
The pair displays exceptionally well together and would make an unusual addition to a collection of Ancient Egypt, Egyptology, archaeology, early photography, royal mummies or Victorian-era historical material.
Sold together as the two-piece framed set shown.
