I’ll be upfront on this and describe as best as I can. The research I found says this…This sepia toned photograph represents the popular portrait photography of the early 20th century when studio portraits were cherished keepsakes and status symbols.
The romantic outdoor setting and soft focus technique were hallmarks of pictorialist is it
photography from approximately 1900-1920.
The ornate gilt frame with rococo style scrollwork is typical of the Victorian and Edwardians taste for elaborate ornamentation.
This piece including the frame measures 21” long and 18” wide. Without the frame it is 17 X 14”.
There is glass over the top. There is slight wear to edges and wear to the back side. No signature.
Like I said, I myself know very little about this piece. But it’s quite old and very appealing.
