Offered here is an original antiqueK.P.E.V. locomotive ownership plaque from the Royal Prussian State Railways, dating from the Imperial German period.
This impressive heavy cast brass plaque features an exceptionally detailed crownedPrussian eagle, carrying the traditional scepter and orb, with the raised initialsK.P.E.V.beneath.
The initials K.P.E.V. are traditionally associated with theKöniglich Preußische Eisenbahn-Verwaltung, or Royal Prussian Railway Administration. Round plaques of this type served as ownership insignia on Prussian railway locomotives and rolling stock.
This particular example features the highly decorativelater K.P.E.V. eagle pattern, generally associated with the circa1910/1912 period. Compared with earlier K.P.E.V. plaques, the eagle is considerably more elaborate, with finely detailed feathers, scrolling wing ornament, an elongated decorative tail and a textured crosshatched background.
The plaque retains all four original mounting holes and its deeply recessed cast reverse.
The central design remains especially striking, with excellent surviving detail throughout the crown, feathers, breast cipher, scepter, orb and K.P.E.V. lettering.

Condition:
Original antique condition with substantial age-related character and patina.
The plaque shows surface wear, oxidation, scratches and mounting wear consistent with its age and original railway use.
There islocalized damage and deformation to the outer rim, most noticeably adjacent to the mounting hole on the left side and also near the mounting hole on the right side. These areas are clearly visible in the photographs and are mentioned for complete accuracy.
Importantly, the central Prussian eagle, K.P.E.V. lettering, crown, breast cipher and decorative relief remain exceptionally well preserved and visually impressive.
The reverse retains heavy old oxidation and patination consistent with long-term age and use.
Please review all photographs carefully, particularly the close-up views of the rim damage, as they form an important part of the condition description.
Despite the localized rim wear, this remains a highly attractive and historically significant example of an originalRoyal Prussian railway locomotive plaque.
I am also offering another original K.P.E.V. locomotive ownership plaque featuring the earlier eagle pattern in a separate listing. Please see my other items.
