This antique H-H USN officer\'s crest came from a Bancroft cover I have also listed. Not certain if this badge is any older than the hat, but it is not any later than mid-60s when insignia started to go to silver-filled and later base metals.
This device is missing one of the screw-fasteners, the upper one to connect to the hatband.
Deeply toned silver, never touched it. The anchors have spots of verdigris or other wear. Gold-filled metals can be polished without ever wearing of the gold tone, but I did not try to do that.
Note this is the large crest, not the small one for the garrision cap.
Approximately:2 1/4\" Tall
2 3/8\" Wide
