Antique Circa 1900–1915 Photographic Stereoview – African American Gentleman & Crowded Public Promenade – Early Social History
Original antique black-and-white photographic stereoview depicting a candid outdoor gathering, with an African American gentleman seated prominently in the foreground.
The gentleman wears a flat cap, striped vest, light-colored shirt, and trousers. Behind him, a large group of men, women, and children gathers along a broad paved walkway beside a low railing or wall, possibly overlooking a waterfront.
The photograph captures an appealing cross-section of everyday life during the early 20th century, including period clothing, hats, and informal public activity.
Unlike conventional posed studio portraits, this stereoscopic image offers a spontaneous documentary view of people assembled in a public place.
