Antique color-tinted postcard featuring two couples gathered around a card table in an elaborately furnished room. The men wear dark suits, while the women wear pale dresses with decorative hair ornaments. Playing cards lie across the polished table, and one woman holds a hand of red-backed cards as her companion leans toward her. The caption reads, “When you’re playing with a girl / She can set your head awhirl,” combining flirtatious humor with an early-1900s social scene. The divided reverse bears handwritten correspondence, a green one-cent Benjamin Franklin stamp, and a January 25, 1911, Decatur, Illinois postmark. Marked “Printed in Germany” and “Serie 40,” this card offers appeal to collectors of romantic humor, card-playing scenes, and Edwardian fashion.
