This is an authentic WWII Imperial Japanese Army Type 19 officer\'s dress sword (Kyū-guntō) complete with its original steel scabbard. This is a classic company-grade piece (carried by a Lieutenant or Captain), which is confirmed by the specific 10-petal cherry blossom emblems on the brass hilt and the smooth, stippled backstrap. The dark horn handle grip and twisted brass wire wrap are completely intact and tight. It is in untouched, original condition with a great natural patina on the brass and honest plating wear and spotting on the metal from age.
