Good vintage military-surplus condition for its age.
Original 1944 metal canteen shows expected scratches, discoloration, oxidation/spotting and general wear from age and use. Olive drab canvas cover also shows age-related wear, fading and markings. Hardware and belt attachment clips are present. Black screw cap and retaining chain are present.

The bottom of the metal canteen is clearly stamped:

The canteen retains its black screw-on cap and metal retaining chain. The olive drab canvas carrier has a faint “U.S.” marking on the front, snap closures and rear attachment hardware.
A great original WWII field-gear piece for a militaria collection, historical display, reenactment display or wartime collection.
