This is a genuinely rare find: a matched set of six saucers in W.S. George's hard-to-find "StarGlow" pattern on the Mulby shape, dating from the 1950s. The StarGlow pattern features whimsical, stylized starburst florals in sky blue, rose pink, and butter yellow - scattered across a bright white glaze in the effortlessly optimistic spirit of mid-century American design. The pattern combines the atomic-age starburst motif with a soft floral sensibility.
W.S. George Pottery, founded in East Palestine, Ohio in 1904, produced some of the most beloved American semi-porcelain dinnerware of the 20th century. The company remained in operation for nearly 60 years before filing for bankruptcy in 1955 and liquidating its remaining holdings between 1959 and 1960 - making surviving sets increasingly difficult to find intact.
Condition: Five saucers are in very good vintage condition - bright glaze, vivid colors, no chips. One saucer has a small, stable hairline crack on the rim, fully disclosed here. All saucers display light, age-consistent wear expected of carefully kept 1950s dinnerware.
Whether you are a dedicated MCM collector, a dinnerware enthusiast, or someone furnishing a period-inspired kitchen, this set represents a rare opportunity.
Each saucer measures approximately 6" diameter.
