Add a striking touch of mid-century industrial character to your office shelf, bar cart, or desk with this authentic vintage cast bronze nameplate. Masterfully poured using traditional sand-molding techniques, this heavy plaque features bold, raised block lettering set against a naturally darkened, deep-contrast oxidized bronze background. The reverse side showcases a fantastic rough foundry texture, and both ends retain pre-drilled holes for clean flush-mounting to a door, wooden block, or wall.Historical Curiosity Note:
Given the incredibly unique surname and W.A. initials, could this heavy command-style plate have originally belonged to U.S. Army Major General William A. Stofft (former Chief of Military History and Commandant of the U.S. Army War College)? While we do not have formal paperwork or direct family provenance to explicitly link this piece to the General, the high-end industrial foundry casting perfectly matches the strict executive specifications utilized for senior military officer suites during his decades of service. Sold as-is as a beautiful piece of architectural history.Condition:
Excellent vintage pre-owned condition. The bronze retains a phenomenal, authentic age-appropriate patina with great contrast and deep coloring. The raised letters are clean, highly legible, and free of heavy gouges or deep metal corrosion. The metal structure is perfectly flat and rigid without warping or bending. Uncleaned to fully preserve its historical character. From a smoke-free home.Measurements:
