Up for sale is an incredibly rare, large-scale vintage mid-century store display fountain pen. Measuring a massive 31 inches long and 6.5 inches wide at its widest point, this is the largest variant of these iconic advertising props.
Cast as a solid, single-piece heavy aluminum alloy, this sculptural piece served as a retail window display or trade sign for a stationery shop in the 1940s or 1950s. It features a beautifully stylized fountain pen nib on one end and the pen clip on the other. It is an impressive, solid sculptural unit.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. It features a beautiful, natural satin-matte patina earned over the decades. There are no major cracks or deep gouges. It can be left with its original historic look or polished up to a mirror-chrome shine using standard aluminum polish depending on your aesthetic.
Perfect statement piece for an industrial office, mid-century modern home, or a serious writing instrument collector.
Dimensions: Approximately 31" L x 6.5" W
