How do I begin? I purchased some handmade pieces from an engineer’s estate several years ago and have been displaying them ever since. They were made from scratch, all by hand, by a very skilled craftsman. His workshop was a marvel. I still have pieces here that I can’t bring myself to sell because they are so wonderful. This was one of his early pieces.
When this was first built, circa the 1950s (possibly earlier), it was all electrified. You can still see the wires sticking out of the back. It is no longer functioning, and would need a complete overhaul of the electrical to get it working. The tank actually moved on its tracks. The headlights worked. Remarkable.
The sections of track are made from wood and attached to metal chain. You can roll it back-and-forth carefully by hand. There are some extra track pieces and a loose headlight included as shown in the last photo.
This thing is a BEAST measuring approximately 12 inches long and weighing over 14 pounds.
This is sold as a decorative collectible, not functioning. An amazing one of a kind piece with many, many hours of work sunk into it. See photos.
FREE SHIPPING with tracking and insurance. I pack my items with care and I use proper boxes.
