Vintage Zuni channel inlay half-hoop post earrings, still on their original “Pueblo of Zuni” display card. The artist’s name, Mirenda Peynetsa, is handwritten on the back of the card.
- Artist: Mirenda Peynetsa, Zuni. The card is handwritten “Mirenda Peynetsa,” and the back of the earring is marked “MP.”
- Metal: Marked STG. The card states “All silver is sterling,” and the friction backs are marked STERLING. Not tested.
- Stone: Pink iridescent inlay that appears to be mother of pearl. It is set in five channel segments per earring and shows nice flashes of rainbow color.
- Design: Curved half-hoop shape with twisted rope wire trim along both sides.
- Closure: Post with friction backs, both backs included.
- Size: About 1" long. Please see the photo next to a quarter for scale.
- Card: The original card reads “This work is handmade by Pueblo of Zuni Artists,” with the Zuni phrase meaning “All good things from the Center Place.” It is also hand-marked “36-RE.”
Silver shows tarnish and patina throughout, heaviest on the backs and in the twisted rope trim. The inlay is intact, with no missing pieces. Not tested; sold as marked. Card is bent in places and shows wear consistent with age. Please see all photos. Shipped promptly and with care.
