Vintage Stephen Mitchell & Son "Tam O' Shanter" 1 oz. Pocket Tobacco Tin - Made in Glasgow, Scotland
For sale is a wonderful piece of Scottish tobacciana history: an authentic, vintage Tam O' Shanter 1-ounce pocket tobacco tin. Produced by Stephen Mitchell & Son in Glasgow, Scotland, this tin features the famous lithographed portrait of Tam o' Shanter wearing his iconic bonnet and smoking a pipe, surrounded by Scottish thistles and a bold yellow background.
The narrow edge is cleanly stamped with its "1 OUNCE" weight capacity [Onz08t]. The base of the tin features a built-in ribbed match striker grid, a classic and highly collectible detail from early 20th-century pocket tins.
Condition: This tin is sold empty for display purposes. It is in good vintage condition with a beautiful historic patina. The lid artwork remains vibrant and completely legible. There is expected surface wear, minor paint chipping along the edges, and slight oxidation spots on the bare metal interior and bottom match striker side consistent with age. The hinge works smoothly and closes firmly. Please review all photos closely to verify the exact cosmetic state.
Dimensions:• Length: 3.25"• Width: 1.25"• Depth: 0.75"
A brilliant small display piece for collectors of vintage advertising, Tobacciana, or Robert Burns memorabilia!
Shipping & Handling: Will be packed securely to safeguard the lithograph artwork during transport. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
