Speed-Vis Motor Oil — A Picture of America in Motion
An airplane overhead. A streamlined train racing across the landscape. An automobile and bus carrying travelers down the road. This vintage Speed-Vis motor oil can brings all four together in a striking blue, cream, and orange-red design—a little transportation history preserved in tin.
The bold, shadowed lettering and sweeping speed lines turn an everyday oil container into a memorable piece of advertising. Both broad faces feature the transportation scene, giving this can display appeal from either direction. One face is better preserved, while the other carries more visible wear from its years of use and storage.
For a petroliana collector, railroad enthusiast, aviation fan, or admirer of vintage automotive advertising, there is plenty of history to appreciate here.
