Gorgeous restored WADE & BUTCHER straight razor. I believe this is a mid 1800's blade. Razor has been cleaned, polished, honed and waxed and is shave ready. Blade is nice but does have some residual spotting/pitting throughout. Overall though, very nice and bright steel. Moderate hone wear. I used three layers of tape on spine when honing. Blade width at widest point measures at over 6/8ths.Grind is a wedge. Beefy Blade.No jimps on shank.
Front of shank is stamped - WADE & BUTCHER - SHEFFIELD. Back side is blank.
Scales are original horn, and have been revitalized. I restored the horn by soaking in neats foot oil for several days, then drying, polishing and waxing. Scales had a few flea bites that i sealed up with some CA glue. Pins are reproduction brass rosettes. Pins are tight and blades closes fine.Shave Ready. Blade has been honed and finished on a vintage Thuringian hone.
