seltzer/soda siphon bottle marked “PHILIP EPSTEIN – NEW YORK – REGISTERED.” A wonderful piece of New York soda and seltzer history with beautiful deep blue glass and substantial vintage metal siphon hardware.The bottom of the glass is marked “BOTTLE MADE IN” with “HUNGARY” arranged within a circular mark, identifying the bottle as Hungarian-made for the American market.The metal siphon assembly is marked EPSTEIN and also bears a “B’KLYN 50” marking. The “50” is consistent with dated markings found on other vintage Brooklyn siphon assemblies and may indicate 1950; however, the exact meaning of the marking has not been independently verified.Approximately 12½” tall overall.Especially nice is the survival of the internal glass siphon tube and removable collar components, shown in the photographs.Condition: Authentic vintage condition with age-related wear, oxidation/tarnish and surface wear to the metal siphon assembly. Glass shows scratches, scuffs, bubbles and manufacturing irregularities consistent with age and use.
