Vintage Northwest Coast Native American Wood Totem Pole - Signed Ray Williams
Beautiful vintage hand-carved and hand-painted wooden totem pole by renowned Northwest Coast carver Ray Williams (1933–1988). Ray Williams, son of master carver Sam Williams, was a member of the Nootka tribe, Vancouver Island, British Columbia.The official name of the tribe is now Nuu-chah-nulth.
Standing approximately 8¾ inches tall with a striking wing span, this piece features classic iconography includinga dominant Thunderbird at the top with outstretched wings, layered over traditional ancestral animaland clan crests. The back of the pole is cleanly hand-signed "Ray Williams". Condition:Very good vintage condition.The original paint shows very minor, natural age-related patina and wearappropriate for its age.Please review all photos and ask any questions before offerding.
