Charming pair of vintage Mexican folk art figures
depicting seated women holding flowers. Even though these were obviously made by mold, I have never seen thee exact same figure. The two figures appear to have been made from the same mold and then painted individually by hand.
Because of the hand painting, each woman is slightly different. One wears bright green pants with a muted gray-brown shawl. The other wears deep red skirt with a yellow shawl. Both hold dark green floral arrangements accented with small red flowers. These are believed to be mid-century Mexican tourist or folk art pieces. They appear to be molded clay or pottery with hand-painted decoration. Both are unsigned and unmarked. The exact maker and place of manufacture are unknown.
