Description:

Striking set of three vintage embossed brass wall plaques depicting chess pieces: King, Queen, and Rook (Castle).

Each plaque measures approximately 14\" tall x 6\" wide and features a dimensional raised brass figure against a geometric checkerboard-textured brass background. The plaques retain their original narrow metal surrounds, hardboard backs, and hanging hardware.

The highly stylized treatment combines Mid-Century Modern, Medieval Revival, and Hollywood Regency design influences and makes an especially attractive grouping when the three are displayed together.

These appear consistent in design and construction with vintage English Peerage / Pearson-Page brassware chess-themed wall plaques from the mid-20th century. Other examples of the series have been attributed to Peerage and include King, Queen, Knight, and Rook designs. However, no surviving Peerage manufacturer\'s label is present on these examples, so the attribution is offered as probable rather than definitive.
