Offered here is an original Gerber Paul Model 2PW folding knife from Gerber’s first-generation Paul series, produced in the United States during approximately 1977–1986. Designed around Paul W. Poehlmann’s patented axial push-button locking mechanism, the knife features a plain-edge drop-point blade, dark hardwood handle inlays and its original fitted “Paul Knife by Gerber” presentation case.
The blade is marked “GERBER / PORTLAND OR 97223” on one side and “PAUL / MODEL 2PW” on the other. The lock button is marked “U.S. PAT 3942249.” This is the original wood-handled Model 2PW and should not be confused with Gerber’s later Series II Model 2.
