Vintage French cast iron sad iron (fer a repasser). Iron only.
- Maker: embossed "JM" mark, attributed to J. Manil, France. Likely late 19th to early 20th century.- Cast iron body with riveted metal strap handle. Smooth sole plate with surface wear.- Size: sole is about 6 inches long.- Condition: age-appropriate patina, surface wear and minor rust spots. Small chip and a fine surface line on top of the iron near the handle bracket (see close-up photo). Please review all photos.
Great as a doorstop, bookend, or display piece for French country and farmhouse decor.
