Scarce vintage El Capitán Maravilla illustrated picture-card album featuring the original Golden Age Captain Marvel, Billy Batson, Shazam, and characters and scenes from the classic Captain Marvel story.
The album contains a substantial group of the original numbered picture cards mounted in their original album presentation.
The album is incomplete.
Among the particularly desirable cards present are:
#2 Captain Marvel, featuring Tom Tyler as Captain Marvel
#3 Billy Batson, featuring Frank Coghlan Jr.
#30 Billy Batson with the wizard Shazam
#33 Shazam transformation scene
#44 Billy Batson transforming into Captain Marvel
#46 Captain Marvel flying
Multiple additional Captain Marvel action and fight scenes
Betty characters and story scenes
The transformation cards are especially striking, including scenes depicting Billy Batson invoking SHAZAM and changing into Captain Marvel.
This is the original Captain Marvel / Billy Batson / Shazam character and should not be confused with the unrelated modern Marvel Comics character who also uses the Captain Marvel name.
