Vintage four point wool blanket by Early's of Witney, England, marked with four black point bars near one corner. Ivory wool ground with black, yellow, red and green stripes repeated near both ends, the classic Hudson's Bay style multicolor pattern. The sewn label reads Early's Witney Point Blanket, Made in England of Pure Wool, with the checkerboard border and chief's head trademark. Whipstitched edges on the long sides, with a fringed selvage at both ends. Measures approximately 71 by 84 inches. Condition: used, with overall softness and even color from age. One fringed end shows significant wear, with the whipstitching separated along part of that edge and the fringe thinned and tangled in spots. The opposite end and both long edges are sound. There is a faint brown spot near the center field and scattered light fuzzing consistent with a wool blanket that has seen use. No moth holes noted.
