Up for online sale or purchase is an exquisite piece of vintage Dutch silverwork. This solid continental silver matchbox sleeve holder was beautifully crafted by the highly collectible Schoonhovense silversmith factory, H. Hooijkaas. [1]
Design Details:
The front showcase side features a highly detailed, crisp, high-relief embossed repoussé scene replicating Rembrandt’s legendary 1642 masterpiece, The Night Watch. Every figure, weapon, and facial detail is wonderfully captured in the metal. The reverse side is smoothly polished, offering an authentic reflective contrast to the intricate front. [1]
