🦝 ORIGINAL TENNESSEE COLONEL COON — GOLDEN CIRCLE FOUNDERS KNIFE — #090– 3 7/8” closed
A particularly interesting Adrian Harris-era Colonel Coon Muskrat, produced for the Golden Circle Knife Club and individually numbered 090 on the bolster.
🔸 ADRIAN HARRIS / TENNESSEE ERA
Adrian A. Harris founded Tennessee Knife Works in Columbia, Tennessee in 1978 and created the original Colonel Coon line. Harris became especially well known for traditional pocketknives, custom blade etching and limited club/commemorative pieces. Original Tennessee production continued through the 1980s, making these early Harris-era knives especially desirable to Colonel Coon collectors.
🔸 ORIGINAL COLONEL COON STAMP
The tang carries the desirable:
COL. COON
TENN
U.S.A.
This Tennessee stamp is an important identifier of the original Colonel Coon production era, predating later revivals of the Colonel Coon name.
🔸 GOLDEN CIRCLE KNIFE CLUB
The Golden Circle Knife Club was founded in Tennessee in 1978, right at the beginning of the original Colonel Coon era. A number of special club knives were produced during its years of activity, often in relatively limited quantities.
This Founders Knife is particularly appealing because the blades identify the club officers:
• W. L. Green — President
• Fred Green — Vice President
• Wess Collins — Secretary
• Leon Johnsey — Treasurer
One smooth bone handle is boldly marked FOUNDERS KNIFE, while the opposite side carries GOLDEN KNIFE / CIRCLE CLUB surrounding the round G shield.
🔸 KNIFE DETAILS
Classic two-blade Muskrat pattern with long opposing blades, smooth bone handles, nickel-silver bolsters, brass liners and individually engraved #090 bolster.
The smooth bone has a handsome cream-to-honey appearance with nice vintage character, while the club lettering, blade markings and officer names remain crisp and highly presentable.
🔸 CONDITION
Both blades retain attractive profiles and present very well. The knife shows light handling/storage evidence consistent with age, including minor marks to the handles and bolsters. Overall fit and presentation are very nice.
No original box or paperwork is included — knife only.
This is much more than a standard Colonel Coon Muskrat — it combines Adrian Harris, original Tennessee production, Golden Circle history, Founders markings and serial #090 in one distinctive vintage collector piece.
