Beautiful vintage handwoven African coiled basket featuring an intricate geometric spiral design in warm shades of brown, mustard yellow, cream, tan, and muted rust. The basket is tightly constructed using a traditional coiling and wrapping technique, creating an attractive pattern on both the interior and underside.
Measures approximately 12” in diameter and 3” deep. A woven hanging loop is incorporated at the rim, allowing the basket to be displayed as wall décor or used as a decorative tabletop bowl.
Believed to be East African in origin, possibly Rwanda or Uganda, although the exact country, maker, fiber content, and age are unknown.
