From the 1967 Wild River Camporee to the 1969 Pack Power Pow Wow, a young scout stitched these into his uniform as proof that he belonged — not just to a troop, but to a brotherhood. These badges once sat proudly on the shoulder and chest of a kid learning what it meant to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful… and prepared.
Maybe he set his first canoe into the Fox River or learned to tie the knots his father had shown him in the garage. Maybe he earned his way into Appleton Troop 67, stood tall at Gardner Dam, and learned first aid “in the space age,” believing the future held only promise.
