For your consideration is a Vintage 1950s Smart Finance Companies Lighter Pat 2517191 NC SC Auto Financing.. this lighter is in very good condition. It has very tight solid hinges. I don\'t see really any dings, maybe some slight ones on the top, but I don\'t think this lighter was used, but maybe once or twice. It\'s pretty solid, comes with a nice vintage box. Most likely , it\'s original box , which is also in good condition ..
Smart Finance Companies was a regional, mid-20th-century consumer finance institution that operated primarily across North and South Carolina. The Business Model: The company primarily specialized in direct consumer auto financing and subprime vehicle loans. They partnered with local car dealerships to secure financing options for buyers who did not qualify for traditional bank financing, mirroring the structure of many regional mid-century financing offices.Regional Presence: As highlighted by the inscription on the lighter, the company maintained dedicated branches throughout both Carolinas, capitalizing on the booming post-WWII automotive market when personal car ownership skyrocketed across the American South.
