Vintage Red & White Purse Makeup Kit with Cameo Top made by Colt Firearms circa 1940's.
This 1940’s purse makeup kit was manufactured by Colt's plastics division and thought to be made of Bakelite. Please be your own expert as I can’t verify that it is Bakelite.
Item is in very good condition for age and considering it was carried in a handbag. It does have light discoloration of the white segments/containers. The cameo top has great detail. The containers are all clean except on that appears to contain leftover powder remnant. All the containers open and close without issue and there are no chips or cracks in the plastic.
It measures approximately 3 1/8” tall and approximately 7/8” in diameter.
I’ve included a photo of an old advertisement for reference. The kit originally came with a little spatula that I don’t have. I have seen some for sale on separately.
A great opportunity to own something unique from a bygone era.
