Up for sale is a rare, vintage 1930s–1940s "Rainbow" capsule bullet-style pocket lighter designed by the American inventor Sydney Weston. Made in the U.S.A.
Outstanding pristine vintage condition. This lighter is entirely UNFIRED and un-struck. The wick is perfectly clean with zero carbon scoring or burns. The inner brass chamber features entirely fresh, unstained cotton batting and a clean flint/fuel screw plug. The brass threads are smooth and twist together perfectly.
Engraved Markings on Brass Insert:
• "Rainbow LIGHTER"
• "DESIGNED BY SYDNEY WESTON"
• "PAT. PEND. MADE IN U.S.A."
The outer chrome casing shows a light, authentic vintage patina from storage but is completely free of heavy damage. A fantastic, museum-quality addition for any serious tobacciana or antique lighter collector. Ships quickly and securely via USPS Ground Advantage (completely dry, safe, and legal to ship as it has never held fuel). Vintage condition externally due to minor age patina from storage. However, the internal mechanism is completely pristine, UNFIRED, and New Old Stock (NOS) with a perfectly clean, unburnt wick. Measures around 4.5”.
