Item Description:
Up for sale is a rare, authentic historical celluloid pinback button from The Flying Squadron for National Prohibition of America. This progressive temperance organization, spearheaded by former Indiana Governor J. Frank Hanly, ran a massive nationwide whistle-stop campaign between 1914 and 1915 to secure a "saloonless nation". This is a fantastic piece of early 20th-century political Americana.
• Front Text: "The Flying Squadron for National Prohibition of America"
• Size: Measures approximately 5/8” in diameter (Sub-inch variant)
• Era: Circa 1914–1915
• Material: Celluloid face with metal backing
Condition Details:
• Front: Good vintage condition. The orange and blue typography remains sharp and completely legible. Very light age-toning/patina on the cream background as expected for a 110+ year-old pin.
• Back: Shows typical paper loss and spotting on the back insert consistent with age. The original straight-pin mechanism is fully intact, secure, and functional.
