Offered for sale is a rare design vintage Diablo Brand belt buckle made of sterling silver (sterling silver overlay on a bronze buckle base), featuring a raised 3-D bronze design of an eagle in flight. Handmade in the United States, this piece embodies the Western Americana culture. NOTES…..Overlay means that a heavy layer of sterling silver was bonded, not electroplated, to the buckle surfaces. The result is a buckle that yields the same appearance as a solid sterling silver buckle. It will be very resistant to wear and will not peal the way that a plated buckle will. In short….it looks just like a solid sterling silver buckle and features beautiful hand engraving. The buckle measures 3 1/2” x 2 1/2”, fits belts up to 1 1/2” wide and weighs about 3 ounces.
