VTG Peruvian Wood Box 5"x4"x2" Hammered Sterling Silver Rim Chancay Textile Under Glass Inset on Lid
CONDITION: SEE 19 PHOTOS EVERY ANGLE.Very good pre-owned. No chips in wood. A few tiny scratches. Sterling Silver Stamped 925 trim good shape, hammered detail.
These decorative boxes are typically hand-carved from a single block of exotic hardwood (like Cumarú or Rosewood). The lid features a genuine, pre-Columbian fragment of a Chancay textile protected under glass and bordered by a hand-hammered sterling silver.The VTG Peruvian Wood Box is a handcrafted by indigenous artisans -- collectible featuring a hammered sterling silver trim frame and a unique Chancay textile inset under glass top of lid. The textile with colors of rust, black,and linen has a design with what appears to be pre-Columbian graphic symbols -- it has a beautiful example of authentic Peruvian craftsmanship and design. The box weighs 12.7 ounces and measures 5" x 4" x 2" The lid lifts off, it is not hinged.
