Authentic set of 4 vintage Marghab hand-embroidered linen cocktail/beverage napkins from Madeira, Portugal. This beautiful mid-century set features Marghab's stunningly precise hand-embroidery work showcasing an elegant rooster motif, finished with masterfully stitched scalloped hand borders. Approximately 5" x 7".Condition Notes:Structurally, these napkins are in wonderful vintage condition with no holes, tears, or fraying threads along the delicate edges. However, they exhibit significant, varied yellowing and deep storage discoloration from spending decades tucked away in an estate collection.Napkin 1 (Top Left): Mild, light yellow storage spots primarily located along the bottom edge underneath the embroidered rooster.Napkin 2 (Bottom Left): Moderate all-over storage yellowing, with darker concentrated areas along the upper left quadrant and bottom center edge.Napkin 3 (Top Right): Distinct vertical band of heavy yellow/brown storage discoloration running completely down the left half of the napkin.Napkin 4 (Bottom Right): Significant, deep all-over yellowing covering the vast majority of the fabric surface.Please Note: These napkins are completely unlaundered and are being sold exactly as found. Many advanced vintage linen collectors are highly skilled at resolving this type of classic storage yellowing using targeted restoration soaks (such as Orvus or prolonged gentle whitening baths).
