This belonged to Senator John Sparkman of Alabama and I purchased it at his family\'s estate sale in Huntsville, Alabama. He ran on the Democrat Ticket for VP in 1952 and was an AL Representative from 1937-1946 and a Senator from 1946-1979.
I think this might have belonged to his wife. Not sure what it is. The donkey face has little jewels on it - a type of costume jewelry. I am not sure where it goes. Perhaps on a lapel and just hangs in a thick button hole like on a jacket or coat? There is no pin or clasp. It just has an area where something would go up in the middle of it and it would hang. Probably easily lost. Cool piece and very different though.
Overall Mostly Good condition - plastic jewel pieces show some age.
