The Vigilantes of Montana by Prof. Thomas J. Dimsdale offers a gripping, eyewitness account of the pursuit and execution of Henry Plummer's notorious road agent band in the 1860s. Published by the University of Oklahoma Press, this eleventh printing from 1979 serves as a definitive historical narrative of frontier justice in the Rocky Mountains. The text provides detailed sketches of life in the mining camps of the Far West, documenting the transition from lawlessness to established order. This softcover edition includes an insightful introduction by E. DeGolyer and remains an essential resource for collectors of Western Americana and non-fiction history.
