Catholic relic theca honoring St. Catherine of Siena (1347–1380), Dominican tertiary, mystic, Doctor of the Church, and co-patroness of Italy and Europe. The printed Latin label reads S. Catarinæ Senen (Sanctae Catharinae Senensis). The relic particle is set at the center of a cream flower-form cartouche on a red silk ground within a gold bullion border, under glass. The reverse retains its original crossed red threads secured beneath an intact red wax seal.
The seal legend is partially legible, with POSTUL and CAP readable around the Franciscan emblem of the crossed arms of Christ and St. Francis before a cross – consistent with Sigillum Postulationis Generalis Ordinis Capuccinorum, the seal of the Postulator General of the Capuchin Franciscans in Rome.
