💎 Description
In daylight, this Sterling Hill specimen shows a white calcite matrix packed with lustrous black franklinite crystals and rich reddish-brown willemite zones spread across the face. The warm red-brown tones make this one of the more colorful daylight pieces from the locality.
Under shortwave, the specimen erupts into a dense interlocking mosaic of bright electric green willemite and vivid red-orange calcite, with the black franklinite crystals holding sharp dark contrast between them. The willemite runs heaviest along one end while calcite takes over toward the other, giving the face a dynamic green-to-red flow. Under longwave the calcite stays bold as a hot pink-red across much of the surface, while the willemite softens to yellow-green patches concentrated along the same end.

🌍 Composition
• Calcite — CaCO₃ — vivid red-orange under SW UV, hot pink-red under LW UV
• Willemite — Zn₂SiO₄ — reddish-brown in daylight, bright electric green under SW UV, softer yellow-green under LW UV
• Franklinite — ZnFe₂O₄ — non-fluorescent at both wavelengths, black crystals providing contrast
• Natural, untreated specimen from the Sterling Hill Mine, Ogdensburg, NJ
⸻
✨ Features
