This antique, art deco design Cartier 8-day travel clock has a beautifully patina’d dial and gold tone case in excellent condition for its age. The lume is crisp, intact, and aged to a light brown that compliments the marbled yellow dial.
The movement is a manual wind high quality 15 jewel Lemania Continental, with geneva stripes and a non-incabloc balance setting.
The clock itself measures just under 43mm and is attached to the outer leather travel case with a screw down rear bezel.
While the leather case is heavily damaged, this bezel attachment configuration allows for the clock to be displayed separately and opens the door to a wrist watch conversion.
The clock’s soft rectangular shape with a domed sapphire crystal is reminiscent of the Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 and fits the modern trend towards larger diameter watches.
While the clock runs when wound, it has not been serviced or tested for accuracy, so is sold as-is for restoration.
