Up for sale is a genuine, original interwar-era VZ-23 Long Bayonet manufactured by the famous state armory Československá zbrojovka (Brno). This is a great placeholder piece for a Mauser collector or a historic military surplus display.
• Rare Long Variant: Features the longer blade pattern (approx. 15.7" / 40cm blade) produced in the 1920s. This is much harder to find than the standard, shorter VZ-24 bayonets.
• Factory Markings: Clean ČSZ factory stamp on the ricasso with a P stamp beneath it (historically associated with Infantry Regiment contracts).
• Export / Commercial History: The reverse ricasso and flat steel pommel face are completely blank, lacking domestic Czech military acceptance proofs. This indicates it was part of a foreign export contract (such as the 1930s Romanian or Chinese contracts) or issued under WWII German occupation.
• Classic Inverted Blade: Features the famous Czech "edge-up" design when mounted.
Condition:
• Blade: Honest, field-used condition with a nice natural gray patina. No severe pitting or aggressive sharpening.
• Handle: Wood grips are original, tight, and show authentic service wear, including a tiny chip near the lower crossguard. The release button mechanism operates smoothly.
• Note: Bayonet only. No scabbard included.
