Rare & Vintage Balinese Hand Carved Painted Tiger Cat Gilt Gold Leaf Polka Dots 20\"
Rare and vintage is this cat! Hand-carved and painted from Bali, the specific piece features an eclectic black finish adorned with shimmering gilt gold leaf polka dots, a distinctive frowny or dramatic facial expression, and painted red lips. These tall statues were highly popular import items starting around the late 20th century, often used as whimsical tabletop accents or floor figurines.
The elongated feline figures are a classic staple of Indonesian folk art and handicraft design, traditionally hand-chiseled from sustainable local woods like albesia or suar wood.
This cat is just gorgeous and would make for good decoration all year or for Halloween!
Size: 20 inches tall by 3.5 inches wide.
