Exceptionally scarce vintage Hoppin’ Hydros 1964 Chevrolet Impala Lowrider, 1:24 scale, Item #2064, in metallic green and still housed in its original Hoppin’ Hydros packaging.In August 2024, the owner of Hoppin’ Hydros was contacted directly about this exact 1964 Impala. The owner confirmed that it was a die-cast vehicle sold by Hoppin’ Hydros as a limited, one-time run many years ago and stated that there were none for sale anywhere at that time, describing it as a “RARE piece.”Additional correspondence from Hoppin’ Hydros confirmed that these cars were sold for a limited period from approximately 1997–1999. According to the company, they were based on Welly 1:24 scale 1964 Chevrolet Impala die-casts that were repackaged and semi-customized by Hoppin’ Hydros. They were offered in approximately 4–6 different colors, originally sold for around $29.95, and were not offered again once the run ended.Hoppin’ Hydros staff recalled that approximately 2,500 cars were issued across the entire run, although they later noted that exact production records are no longer available. If production had been divided evenly among the different colors, that would suggest only approximately 400–625 cars per color when originally produced, although the exact quantity made in this metallic green finish is unknown.Nearly three decades later, surviving original boxed examples appear to be exceptionally difficult to locate. Extensive online research beginning in 2024 and continuing to the present has not located another confirmed boxed example of this exact Hoppin’ Hydros #2064 release.The car itself is in excellent, well-preserved condition and has remained protected inside the original packaging. The metallic green finish, custom lowrider wheels, whitewall tires, trim, and visible details present beautifully.The original Hoppin’ Hydros box is included and shows light shelf and storage wear with a few small areas of surface wear visible in the photos. The main packaging issue is the clear front display plastic, which has cracking, creasing, and age-related distortion. Please review all photographs carefully for exact condition.This is an outstanding piece for collectors of Hoppin’ Hydros, vintage lowrider memorabilia, 1964 Chevrolet Impalas, Welly die-cast, custom 1:24 models, and rare 1990s automotive collectibles.Printed copies of the 2024 email correspondence from Hoppin’ Hydros, including the owner’s confirmation of the car’s limited one-time production and rarity, will be included with the purchase for the collector’s records and provenance.
