I'm honored to offer for sale this exquisite bit and bridle set! The bit was hand-forged by silversmith Robert F. Schaezlein (of R. Schaezlein and Son) who worked with the Visalia Stock Saddle Co. from the early 1910s until 1936.
During this timeframe, Schaezlein hand-forged the famous Monel Visalia Humane Bit (crafted using Monel, a corrosion-resistant nickel-copper alloy popular at the time). The partnership came to an abrupt end in 1936 following a bitter dispute regarding the patenting and outsourced casting of the bit. Just a brief history lesson!
The bridle itself appears to be made by a company named "Champion", but I'm not able to make out the rest of the marks. It's made with high quality, thick leather, accented with sterling silver conchos, with the bigger ones measuring almost 2.5 inches!
This is truly an exceptional set, that can be used or put up for display. Please message me with any further questions, I'd love to earn your business!
