Borinquen was made for the Puerto Rico market only by the Tribune sales Co of New York in about 1923-24 and apparently was not on the market all that long. They were supposedly made specifically for the Puerto Rican weather, however, I don\'t think anything about this pen is different than any other ebonite pen. Borinquen is the original Indigenous Taino name for the island of Puerto Rico. Interesting that a New York company made a pen to be sold exclusively in Puerto Rico. This pen has a Grieshaber nib on it so maybe Grieshaber made it or maybe the nib had been changed. It\'s certainly a rare and intriguing pen. This pen is pre-owned and in spectacularly clean condition. The body and cap have just very light micro-scratches from age. No dents, dings, chips, cracks, scratches, wear or damage. Flawless color. Flawless chasing. Crisp, clear \"TRIBUNE SALES CO. TRIBUNE BUILDING NEW YORK\" imprint on body. No personalization. Flawless gold trim with no wear. BORINQUEN on clip and lever. Exceptionally clean Grieshaber nib with light micro-scratches. Excellent tip that writes very well. The pen has a new sac installed and fills and writes well
