Original early 1900s novelty portfolio "Rib Ticklers of Art" by cartoonist John Held. Complete set of 10 comic / risqué joke cards printed on thin aluminum, housed in the original aluminum portfolio case lettered "PORTFOLIO RIB TICKLERS OF ART."

Cards show classic vaudeville-era humor – A Toast, When Reuben Comes to Town, Not Bad For A Steel Pen, Gee! Isn't That Great, and others. Each approx. 3.5" x 2.25". Light age spotting / patina to aluminum as expected, overall good intact condition, case closes tight.

These aluminum card sets were sold as gentleman's novelties and rarely survive complete with case. A great piece of early American cartoon / postcard history.
